Calgon, take me away: Traveling Solo

Calgon, take me away: Traveling Solo

Every once  in a while I when I’m feeling stressed and cooped up, I find myself repeating an old slogan from a bath lotion company: “Calgon, take me away!”

Do we travel to meet people, to challenge ourselves and expand our horizons? Maybe we just are passionate about seeing the world and exploring life in different countries through various adventures.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s one or more of these reasons that propels you to want to get up, get out and get going on a journey… The important part is to follow the desire to just GO!

In the Solo world some people think they can’t fly the coup without  a wing man. However, flying solo sometimes means you can actually soar farther, faster and in any direction you want, which for some people means spreading their wings and breaking from the V formation of life.

Events and Adventures doesn’t just organize random activities; it’s a company that helps solos get out into the world and enjoy new experiences.

For some, getting out there in the world means trying a new restaurant on the south side of the city, while for others it’s traveling to the South Pacific.

Events and Adventures owner Mark Owens is my  guest on Solo in the City this Saturday night at 10pm on CJAD 800 and he will share with you all the various types of activities and trips his company offers.

Why join a group like Events and Adventures? It takes us out into the world to follow our dreams and passions, while taking the pressure off of dating.

According to Marc Owen, “when you’re at an Events and Adventures event, it doesn’t seem like dating.” Owen takes the pressure out of dating and gets the ball rolling even if you’re not a social butterfly.

Remember: Traveling solo doesn’t have mean you have to be alone!

Let’s fly, drive, bike, train or walk Solo together and don’t forget to KISS…Keep It Simply Social! ….no matter where your path leads you.
