The Grand Prix of Love

As the weekend kicks off to a racy start with the Formula 1 Grand Prix festivities, it’s a time to remember that, contrary to the pace in which theses cars travel, relationships should respect the speed limits.

Drivers train for years to qualify yet too often people in relationships put the pedal to the metal before having properly studied the track. Think about it in racing terms: If any novice jumped into an F1 car, destined to win the race, threw it into high gear and took the first curve at lightening speed, what do you think would happen? Yup, you got it: CRASH and BURN, baby!

Even if you think the person you are dating may be the one to go the distance and cross that finish line with you, take your time! Love is not a race.

Study the manual, get the feel of the wheel, check the tires, walk the course you are going to drive, increase your speed slowly and then…buckle up! There will still be bumps in the road but at least you will be more prepared to handle them.

Vroom, vroom…
